   Having worked in water treatment equipment operation and maintenance and related services for ten years, I've encountered numerous factory maintenance personnel. I've found that the vast majority of equipment malfunctions and water quality issues aren't caused by equipment aging. The core reason is simple: during inspections, everyone only checks if the equipment is running and leaking, neglecting key operating parameters.   I. Filter Differential Pressure Parameter

  Most maintenance personnel believe that if the pressure gauge isn't off, the equipment is fine. I completely disagree with this; it's a common misconception in the industry. Normal operating differential pressure should be maintained between 0.02–0.1 MPa.

  II. TDS and Conductivity Parameters

  To determine if the output water from water purification or pure water equipment meets standards, simply look at TDS and conductivity. These are the most intuitive and accurate core indicators. I worked with a beverage processing plant in Xi'an where a typical instrument misjudgment occurred. The maintenance personnel hadn't calibrated the instruments for half a month, and the equipment displayed all normal values.

  III. Essential Auxiliary Parameters for Routine Inspections

  Simply checking differential pressure and water quality parameters is far from sufficient. Uncontrolled levels of a few auxiliary parameters can directly cripple the entire water treatment system. For example, the pH value of the circulating water system must be strictly controlled between 7.0 and 8.5. Values that are too low will corrode pipes and equipment, while values that are too high will lead to scale buildup and pipe blockage.
