  The 0.5-ton small reverse osmosis (RO) system is a mainstream device for commercial establishments, small factories, laboratories, and home water purification upgrades. It boasts advantages such as small footprint, low energy consumption, and stable water output. Many devices suffer from poor water quality and frequent malfunctions, largely due to improper installation and inadequate commissioning.   0.5-ton Reverse Osmosis System

  I. Pre-Installation Preparation

  Before installation, it is necessary to check the site, water and electricity supply, and accessories. Selecting the right product is fundamental to stable operation. Mastering the core methods for choosing a manufacturer of small commercial RO systems can help avoid equipment quality defects from the outset and reduce later commissioning and maintenance problems. The equipment should be placed in a flat, dry, and well-ventilated indoor area with sufficient space for maintenance. The floor should be treated with anti-slip and waterproof measures to prevent water from soaking the machine. The system is compatible with standard 220V residential and industrial power supplies, ensuring stable voltage. It is equipped with an independent leakage protection switch to eliminate potential circuit hazards. Simultaneously, check the raw water quality and pressure. The standard inlet water pressure should be maintained at 0.1–0.4 MPa. If the raw water turbidity or impurity content exceeds the standard, a pretreatment filter must be installed in advance to protect the reverse osmosis membrane element. Unpack and verify the main unit, precision filter, high-pressure pump, membrane element, and piping fittings to ensure no damage.

  II. Standardized Equipment Installation Procedure

  First, fix the equipment frame and level the machine to avoid vibration and abnormal noise during operation. Install the pretreatment filter element and precision filter element in sequence, ensuring the filter elements are installed tightly and the sealing gaskets are in place to prevent leakage. Then, install the reverse osmosis membrane element, apply a small amount of lubricating oil to lubricate the sealing ring, and gently push it into the membrane housing. Do not forcefully press it to prevent membrane damage. Next, connect the inlet, pure water, and wastewater pipelines, distinguishing the pipeline interfaces. Do not connect the pure water and wastewater pipelines in reverse. Tighten and seal all joints to prevent water and air leakage. Finally, connect the circuit, following the wiring diagram. Secure the wiring properly to prevent moisture and aging.

  III. Core Steps for Equipment Start-up and Commissioning

  After installation, do not start the equipment directly under high pressure. Commissioning must be done in stages. Step 1: Low-pressure water flushing. Open the inlet valve and flush the pipes and filter elements to remove impurities. After venting, close the drain valve. Step 2: No-load test run. Turn on the power and start the high-pressure pump. Run at low pressure for 10-15 minutes to completely remove air from the equipment and prevent air blockage from affecting water production. Step 3: Pressure boosting. Slowly adjust the pressure valve to bring the system working pressure to the standard range. Simultaneously adjust the wastewater flow rate to match the water production ratio of the 0.5-ton equipment, ensuring a reasonable recovery rate.

  IV. Water Quality Testing and Final Acceptance

  After the equipment has been running stably for 30 minutes, test the TDS value of the pure water and the effluent flow rate to verify compliance with standards. Observe that there are no leaks in the entire pipeline, no abnormal noises from the high-pressure pump, and stable pressure values; this indicates successful commissioning. For beginners, please remember that a new membrane needs to be flushed for at least one hour before use to thoroughly rinse out the protective solution inside the membrane. Proper installation and commissioning can effectively prevent membrane clogging, substandard water quality, and equipment malfunctions, significantly extending the lifespan of the equipment and membrane elements and reducing subsequent maintenance costs.
