Most mainstream small-scale water softening systems on the market are integrated, with fewer pipes and clear interfaces, making them suitable for shops, small workshops, and laboratories. Compared to the cumbersome construction of large units, small equipment is much easier to install, but mistakes can still lead to problems—unqualified water output and leaks are common. DIEN Water Treatment provides each unit with a detailed instruction manual and remote technical support, ensuring customers understand the installation process and can use it with confidence.

Water Softening Equipment 6-Step Self-Installation Tutorial (Small Universal Model)

Step 1: Site Selection and Placement. Choose a well-ventilated, dry location near a drain, with sufficient ground load-bearing capacity. Place the machine on a level surface, allowing for salt addition and maintenance. Keep it away from direct sunlight and areas prone to freezing.

Step 2: Shut Down the Water Supply and Drain the Pipes. Close the main valve completely, then open the end faucet to drain any remaining water from the pipes to prevent flooding.

Step 3: Connect the Inlet and Outlet Pipes. Ensure the inlet and outlet markings are correctly aligned. Don't forget the gaskets, and don't overtighten the nuts. Securely connect the drain pipe as well.

Step 4: Install the Bypass Valve and Leave an Access Port for Maintenance. Connect the bypass valve to the correct position. Normally operate in purified water mode; switch to direct connection for maintenance to avoid disrupting production.

Step 5: Add Softening Salt (Click to learn about the effects of adding too much or too little salt to water softening equipment). Add water to dissolve the salt. Pour the special salt into the salt tank, filling it no more than two-thirds full. Add a little water to dissolve it; this is essential for ion exchange.

Step Six: Power on and test for leaks. Set the parameters, slowly open the inlet valve, and watch the interface for leaks. Run one or two regeneration cycles without problems; the process is complete.

Real-world Case Study: Water Softening Retrofit for a Small Food Workshop in Xi'an

A small baking workshop in Weiyang District was suffering from limescale buildup in its ovens and ice makers, affecting the inconsistent taste of its finished products. After visiting several local manufacturers, the owner chose DIEN Water Treatment's small-scale water softening equipment.

Upon receiving the equipment, the owner installed it himself following the six-step tutorial, finishing in an hour—no need for a professional. After the water flow was restored, the hardness dropped significantly, the equipment stopped scaling, and the production water quality consistently met standards. Dean also provided remote maintenance reminders, solving a major problem with minimal cost. The owner praised the hassle-free service.

DIEN Water Treatment focuses on the research and development and production of water softening equipment and reverse osmosis water purification systems. Small machines can be installed by ourselves, and large systems can be equipped by dedicated personnel. Technical support is uninterrupted, allowing enterprises in Northwest China to easily say goodbye to water-related troubles.
