How to choose a manufacturer of iron and manganese removal equipment for well water without making mistakes?

  A well water iron and manganese removal system purchased for tens of thousands of yuan turned black again after only three months of use. Don't blame the well water for being contaminated. The core problem is that the system lacked an aeration chamber and an oxidation process, failing to effectively remove dissolved iron and manganese. This article details the key points for selecting a legitimate iron and manganese removal system, helping you avoid the pitfalls of cheap, inferior equipment.

  Last year, our company, DIEN Water Treatment, took on a project in Xiaohaotu Township, Yulin: the villagers' well water had a manganese content as high as 0.42 mg/L, 4.2 times the national standard of 0.1 mg/L. The government had just installed water purifiers for 700 households, but three months later, they collectively complained that the water coming out of the system was black, indicating that the manganese hadn't been removed. Upon inspection, we found that the filter media had an MnO₂ content of only 28%, making it difficult even to remove iron, let alone manganese. The most critical issue is that the manufacturer, to save 300 yuan, completely eliminated the aeration chamber. Without oxygen, the divalent manganese cannot be oxidized, and the filter media has to rely solely on its own strength – how can it not fail?

  Iron and Manganese Removal Filtration Equipment

  Iron and manganese removal requires natural manganese sand with MnO₂ ≥ 35%. Sand with less than 30% can only be called "iron removal sand." If you buy sand with 20%, that's not equipment, it's a rust collector. Our manganese sand comes with a test report for each ton; the measured MnO₂ is 38.7%, with a particle size of 0.6–2.0mm, and its activity does not decrease after backwashing. The tank is made of 316L stainless steel with a food-grade epoxy lining. Xi'an's groundwater has large pH fluctuations and high chloride ion levels; ordinary carbon steel rusts through in two years, but our equipment has lasted for 12 years without needing tank replacement.

  Do you think that thoroughly dealing with the recurring problem of excessive iron and manganese levels in well water is a technical challenge? Not at all. Some manufacturers are afraid to tell you: they don't even do aeration, yet they still dare to sell you "manganese removal equipment."
