Which is easy to use for single-stage and two-stage reverse osmosis equipment? How to choose the difference and applicable scenarios

After doing water treatment for so many years, I am often asked how to choose single-stage and two-stage reverse osmosis equipment. In fact, there is only one core difference between the two: the number of purifiers is different, and the purity of the water quality is different. There is no absolute good or bad. It all depends on your actual water needs and budget.Today, I will explain the difference between the two and the applicable scenarios to help you take fewer detours.

The difference between single-stage and two-stage reverse osmosis equipment

The water quality of the effluent. The single-stage desalination rate is 90%-98%, and the conductivity of the effluent is 10-20µS/cm, which can remove most of the salt, bacteria, and impurities. The water quality is up to standard but not high purity. The two-stage desalination rate can reach more than 99%, the conductivity of the effluent can be as low as within 5µS/cm, trace ions and organic matter can be further removed, and the purity of the water quality is much higher.

Process and structure.Single-stage reverse osmosis is a filtration. After the raw water is pretreated, it is directly passed through a set of RO membranes by a high-pressure pump to produce pure water in one step. The equipment consists of a set of high-pressure pumps and a set of membrane components. The pipeline is simple, the footprint is small, and the late maintenance is worry-free.Two-stage reverse osmosis is two filtration, and the single-stage water is sent to a set of RO membranes for deep purification, which is equivalent to ”pure water re-purification".The equipment has an additional set of high-pressure pumps, a set of membranes, and an intermediate water tank. The structure is more complex, the area is large, and the initial investment and operating costs are higher.

Applicable scenarios for single-stage and two-stage reverse osmosis equipment

Look at the water quality requirements, look at the raw water status, and look at the budget.Ordinary demand, good raw water, tight budget, single-level; high-purity demand, poor raw water, not bad cost, choose two-level. We have been a 10-year-old water treatment factory, and the core accessories are all big brands. We can conduct free door-to-door surveys and customized solutions. Whether it is one-level or two-level, we can help you control the cost at 15%-30% of the market price, and we also support on-site factory inspections, so you can rest assured. Reliable.

Single-stage reverse osmosis is suitable for conventional water needs. For example, food and beverage factories produce pure water, community direct drinking water, general industrial cooling water, general chemical cleaning water, and raw water with good water quality and low salt content. The budget is limited, the pursuit of high cost performance, the menu level is correct, 30.000 + project case verification, stable enough to save money.

Two-stage reverse osmosis has to be used in high-standard water scenarios.Such as electronic semiconductor chip cleaning, water for injection in the pharmaceutical industry, water for high-end laboratories, water for high-pressure boilers, and raw water with high salt content and large fluctuations in water quality. These scenarios have strict requirements for conductivity and resistivity, and the two-stage can stably produce high-purity water to ensure production quality.

Which is better for single-stage and two-stage reverse osmosis equipment?

In ordinary daily water use scenarios, single-stage reverse osmosis is sufficient. For example, the daily cleaning water of the factory, the direct drinking water of the community, the water for ordinary food processing, and the water purification of the construction site are completely sufficient at a single level, and a lot of input costs can be saved, and the practicality is full.If it is an industry with strict water quality requirements, then two-stage reverse osmosis is preferred.Scenarios such as ultrapure water production in the electronics industry, water for pharmaceutical production, water for laboratory testing, and high-purity supply water for boilers are inseparable from the blessing of two-stage equipment, and high-standard water quality can ensure the smooth progress of production operations.

The single-stage reverse osmosis equipment only undergoes one RO membrane filtration treatment. The overall equipment structure is simple, easy to install, and there are not many cumbersome steps in daily operation and maintenance. The energy consumption during operation is low, the early procurement cost and the late replacement cost of consumables are relatively close to the people, and the footprint is not large, so there is no pressure on the placement of small and medium-sized venues. However, its water purification accuracy has certain limitations, the desalination rate does not reach extremely high standards, and the pure water produced is of medium purity, which can only meet the daily conventional water standards. If you encounter a water source with high salt content and impurities in raw water, it is difficult for the treated water quality to meet the requirements of high-specification production and use.

The two-stage reverse osmosis equipment filters the pure water out of a single stage and performs a deep reverse osmosis filtration again. Under the double purification, almost all the salt, heavy metal ions, and tiny impurities in the water can be completely removed. The purity of the effluent water quality is greatly improved, and the water quality stability is also stronger.Another point is that in the face of raw water with poor water quality and high hardness, the two-stage equipment can be easily adapted, and the effluent index is always maintained in the qualified range. It's just that there are more accessories for this kind of equipment, the price of the complete set of equipment is higher, the operating power consumption and water consumption are greater, and the later maintenance costs will increase, and the installation space occupied will be larger.
